“The situation of early childhood in Brazil and, consequently, in Goiás, is serious. We have some very bad indicators. Notably vaccination against polio, which is no more than 65%, is slipping. The provision of daycare, which in Goiás is no more than 23%, should be at least 50% by 2024. So society, State bodies need to assume this responsibility as stated in article 227 of the [federal] Constitution, which is the obligation of all of us”, highlighted Ferrari.
Also this Tuesday (5), the Accounts director will be present – together with governor Ronaldo Caiado and the minister of Education (MEC), Camilo Santana – to the signing of documents adhering to three federal government programs aimed at Education. In the afternoon, the pact for zero illegal deforestation in the State will be signed, on Alego's premises.
According to the president of the assembly, state deputy Bruno Peixoto (União Brasil), the House must act together with the TCE-GO and with the state Court of Justice (TJ-GO), in order to reduce the deficit of places in early childhood education in Goiás.
“Together with the State Court of Auditors, the Court of Justice, we will act vehemently to ensure that the legislation is complied with. We, through the deputies, will work so that, in the budget of the State of Goiás, through amendments taxes, we allocate them to municipalities, especially to reduce the deficit in relation to places in daycare centers and Cmeis”, revealed Peixoto.
In addition, the Goiás Committee of the National Pact for Early Childhood must publish data updated and regionalized in Goiás on the living conditions of children from pregnancy to six years old.
