The Individual Microentrepreneur (MEI) is a legal category full of advantages, but it can also generate some difficulties for small business owners. One of them is the proof of income, a task that for many tends to be a little complicated.
The good news is that there are several ways to prove income as MEI to facilitate your access to financial products and services, such as credit cards, loans and financing. This is the process that allows the bank to have guarantees that the customer has the financial capacity to commit to a debt.

Some alternative documents are sufficient to demonstrate the entrepreneur's income, which is exactly what financial institutions want to know. However, it is worth noting that each company has its own rules and may or may not accept certain receipts, and it is up to the taxpayer to make this inquiry.
Below, check out some ways to prove income as MEI.
The Individual Income Tax Declaration (DIRPF) proves all the individual's income in the previous year, basically demonstrating how much they earned in the period. To present this proof, simply access the Federal Revenue portal and request a copy of the declaration receipt.
Another important record is the bank statement, which brings together all financial transactions that occurred in the account in a given period. With it, it is possible to demonstrate deposits consistent with the declared income. The bank statement is obtained from bank branches, self-service terminals, internet banking and bank applications.

The Income Perception Proof Statement (Decore) is a good way out for those who do not have a pay slip or paycheck, such as individual micro-entrepreneurs. Issued by an accountant, the document certifies the monthly income based on other documents that prove the declared values.
Invoices and other receipts issued to customers after service provision can also serve as proof of income. These documents demonstrate the amounts charged, and are therefore good demonstrations of the MEI's monthly income.
Another very interesting proof is the Annual Declaration of the Simples Nacional do Microentrepreneur Individual (DANS MEI), a mandatory document that summarizes the annual revenue of the business. It must be sent to the IRS every year and copies are available on the Entrepreneur Portal.
