It is no longer the case that young people are instructed by their parents, grandparents, uncles and other people close to them to invest in education to have a better future.

In a recently completed study, the Brazilian Institute of Economics of Fundação Getúlio Vargas (Ibre/FGV) was able to determine which professions obtained, on average, the best salaries in 2023.
According to research, professionals who work in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) axis are more likely to earn more and better. This is because these areas bring together professions considered essential, which became even more evident after the pandemic.

Within the STEM axis, Ibre/FGV identified five professions that are the champions in terms of salary. Are they:
Specialist doctors: R$ 18,475;
Mathematicians, actuaries and statisticians: R$16,568;
General practitioners: R$ 11,022;
Geologists and geophysicists: R$ 10,011;
Mechanical engineers: R$9,881.
It is worth highlighting that it is not just technical knowledge that matters in terms of salary increases for these professionals. The social importance and potential ease of adaptation to different scenarios is also taken into account when assessing the importance of these professions.
Who earns less?
The same survey identified early childhood and pre-school teachers as the lowest paid in the country.
On average, these professionals earn R$2,285 per month. The value is far below what teachers, responsible for training future generations, deserve and should earn. It's really absurd.
Nowadays, with the facilities brought by technology, especially Artificial Intelligence, many People have been wondering whether investing in studies is really the best way to guarantee a future better.
However, another survey, this time carried out by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics, the IBGE, describes the importance of educational preparation as a primary driver of professional prosperity.
In a report released in the second quarter of this year, the institute pointed out that the more educated a person is, the more likely they are to get a well-paid job.
Unfortunately, not all Brazilians have access to quality education that offers them opportunities to progress professionally.
In any case, it is a reminder that yes, education is the path to the development of people and society as a whole, in every way.
