The aid will be granted mainly to indigenous people, who are enrolled in university and technical professional education courses. The measure was published in the Official State Gazette, establishing the transfer of a social benefit worth a minimum wage (R$ 1,320). Students taking secondary or university-level technical professional education courses, whether in public or private institutions, will be entitled to the benefit.
According to the State Secretariat for Social Assistance and Human Rights (Sead), new acts will be published soon, including registration and regulation notices. The guidelines of the new program will serve both new beneficiaries and those already served by Vale Universidade and Vale Universidade Indígena.
Currently, more than 1,800 students in socially vulnerable situations receive support from the state government through Sead. In 2023, around R$9.8 million will be invested so that the benefits are guaranteed. In the case of students who already participate in Vale Universidade, they will be automatically transferred to MS Supera.
To grant the benefit, you must be duly enrolled in secondary-level technical professional education courses or in public and private universities. It is also mandatory to live in Mato Grosso do Sul for more than two years and not receive any other paid benefit or financial assistance that has the same purpose.
