Brazilian barbecue is a delicacy of our gastronomy, much appreciated by those who like beef. When we talk about gaucho barbecue, the level rises even further, so much so that the delicacy was considered Brazil's intangible heritage. However, he was not considered the best in the world.
The TasteAtlas page, on Instagram, carried out a popular vote survey to choose which would be the best barbecue in the world. The Gaucho version made the final part of the Top 10 and was beaten by preparations Argentines, South Koreans and even Japanese – the country that took the best place.

“I've never tried the dishes at the top of the list, but I'm sure it's not as good as picanha with garlic bread,” commented one user. “The Brazilian skewer is a global heritage,” wrote another.
A third was even more angry because we lost to our “hermanos” from Argentina. “Our [barbecue] is much better than the Argentine one. It’s unbeatable”, he published.
There are several similar comments on the TasteAtlas page.
In the publication, TasteAtlas attested that the list should not and does not intend to be seen as a global reflection of behavior or food preferences. It is, simply, a ranking made with popular vote in order to generate curiosity among followers.
“Our goal is to promote local foods, inspire pride in traditional dishes and spark curiosity in new foods,” the page wrote.
Even so, we know, deep in our hearts, that the Brazilian barbecue is the best. When we talk about Gaucho barbecue, we are talking about a tradition that dates back to the 19th century. Today, “churras” is one of the most popular dishes in Brazil, served in restaurants, squares and homes.
