Among the factors that increase the severity of constant warming are climate variables, therefore, the low air humidity, atmospheric pollution and deforestation increase the risk of diseases associated with hyperthermia.

Find out what should be done to reduce the risks of a heat wave

1. Take cold showers

Firstly, one of the ways to alleviate the discomfort caused by a heat wave is to take cold showers throughout the day. In this way, cold water helps to lower body temperature, refresh the skin and relax the muscles. Furthermore, a three-minute shower improves blood circulation and strengthens immunity.

2. Place a bucket of ice near the fan

Another tip is to place a bucket of ice near the fan, trying to imitate the process carried out by an air conditioner. After all, when ventilating the place, the cool breeze spreads quickly, absorbing heat and evaporating. In this case, frozen bottles serve as support and make it easier to change the container.

3. Stay as far away from the sun as possible

Above all, an important measure is to stay out of the sun, especially at times of highest incidence of ultraviolet rays, between 10am and 4pm. Therefore, pay attention when visiting the beach, swimming pools and walking outdoors. This care prevents heatstroke, premature aging and even skin cancer.

4. Keep the body well hydrated

Hydrating the body means eliminating toxins, preventing dehydration and improving the functioning of the organs. That said, the recommendation is to drink at least 2 liters of water per day, or more, depending on your level of physical activity. In other words, consume fruits, natural ice creams and iced teas.

5. Take a cold foot bath

Most people feel tired in the heat and preparing an ice-cold foot bath results in a moment of relaxation. While doing the adapted foot bath, add about three drops of the essential oil of your choice. For example, mint, eucalyptus and lavender, which combine refreshing properties.

6. Wear light clothing and a damp towel

Finally, sweat ends up being uncomfortable and using damp towels on the face and back of the neck provides immediate relief. Therefore, you can leave fabrics in the freezer or even moisten them under running water. This mechanism is often overlooked, but it really works and is comfortable.
