The Amazonas Public Security Secretariat (SSP-AM) announced the opening of a bidding process with the aim of acquiring 18 video game consoles intended for use by public servants. This measure is part of an initiative aimed at improving working conditions.
The video games that SSP-AM intends to acquire have advanced technical specifications, including connection to the internet via Ethernet, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, USB ports, two wireless controls and storage capacity 825GB. These devices must support 4K resolution and the possibility of expansion to 8K, in addition to having 16GB RAM.
The package also includes a five-year plan for game downloads. Although the exact type of console has not been confirmed by SSP-AM, the specifications indicate that it could be a PlayStation 5.
The bid mentions different annual plans for the gaming platform, ranging from R$278.90 to R$548.90. The average market price for the console in question is approximately R$4,600.
In addition to video games, the Secretariat wishes to purchase ping-pong tables, massage tables, massaging armchairs, televisions and puffs, aiming to equip a leisure area for servers.
According to SSP-AM, the purpose of this purchase is to provide a more pleasant working environment and support the mental health of public security professionals. The Secretariat emphasizes the need for such measures due to the high pressure inherent to police activities.
The funds for the acquisition of the items come from a specific transfer from the National Public Security Fund, intended exclusively for promoting the well-being of employees.
According to statements from the SSP-AM secretary, the items will be placed in a decompression room at the Integrated Command and Control Center (CICC), a strategic location that plays a central role in monitoring the state and holding senior security management meetings public.
The Public Security Secretariat confirmed the objectives of the purchase, but did not clarify whether the intended video games are in fact PlayStations.
