In total, there are 65.5 acres of land and houses, with approximately 3 km of coastline. The private pier is ideal for anyone interested in canoeing, fishing, sailing and also bird watching. According to the director of the real estate agency responsible for the sale, James Hatzolos, the island is a great option for those who want to isolate themselves, as access can only be done by boat or helicopter.
“It lends itself to a lot of ideas. Firstly, someone who wants their own private retreat where you are totally isolated. Someone might also want to host a health or wellness retreat,” Hatzolos argued.
One of the most curious and attractive points for those who want to buy the island is the true luxury of not having to pay any bills. Sold as a private property, Elizabeth Island is free of municipal fees, property tax, bills and water and energy. There are two houses already built on the island, completely independent.
The first residence was built in 2004. Made from western red cedar wood and with three bedrooms, the property has sea views from every window. In addition, the house also has a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with hot tub, gas heating and septic drainage system.
The second wooden house was built in 2022, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and fully electric appliances. As there is no public energy supply on the island, which means that there is no need to pay the monthly electricity bill, both houses are supplied with solar energy.
