Theo is a garden snail, who spends the day with other snails, harvesting tomatoes and hoping not to be captured by predatory birds. Despite his peaceful life, this young animal dreams of becoming extremely fast, like his idol, Indianapolis champion runner Guy Gagné. The obsession with speed causes Theo to be ridiculed by his colleagues. One day, however, he accidentally falls into the engine of a large racing car, and an unexpected effect occurs on his body, causing him to become extremely fast. Renamed Turbo, the snail finds shelter in the house of Tito, a Mexican food seller known for his unusual plans that almost always go wrong.
