The tender friendship between two somewhat different people crosses bridges, seas and time.
How good it is to have a friend to make up games, talk to or even just sit in silence and watch the sea! The two friends in this story met at the beach every day – one came running on a bicycle; the other came slowly, leaning on a cane.
There, between the comings and goings of the waves, trips to distant lands, carts and popsicles, time passed. It passed, bringing many questions, discoveries and dreams.
In the poetic prose of author Marcia Cristina Silva, beautiful textual images tell the story of two somewhat different people, of a family and its mistakes, of memories and learning, of dreams and life.
Catarina Bessell puts the colors of the sea in the illustrations and, with her lines and collages, translates the freshness and vivacity of the characters with great sensitivity.
Book recommended for readers aged 8 and over.
