“The princess who chose”

“The Princess I Chose” tells the story of a very well-behaved princess, who lived in a beautiful castle. One day, when she says “no” to her father, the king, she suffers the consequences for her insolence. He, who has always considered himself a big boss, is unhappy with his daughter's attitude and decides to leave her grounded in the palace tower because he disagrees with her opinion.

However, what seemed like a punishment turns out to be a very lucky episode for the little princess. There, she discovers that the world was much bigger than she imagined. She finds the library of an ancient wizard and delves into stories of enchantment, knights and dragons, treasure and danger. She learns to navigate the internet and makes friends among the castle's employees.

Due to all the knowledge she gained, the princess helps save the kingdom from a disease and makes the king proud, who frees her from her punishment. When she leaves the tower, the girl, full of personality and intelligence, starts to surprise the entire kingdom with her decisions, such as studying at a school with other children and always respecting the opinion of others, becoming a great woman.

In this fun contemporary fable, the adventures of Ana Maria Machado's princess move and make us reflect on the importance of acquiring knowledge and being able to make our own choices.
