The Pink Dolphin Legend is a legend of indigenous origin that is part of Brazilian folklore.
Legend has it that during June festivities, on the banks of the great rivers of the Amazon, while riverside communities celebrate Santo Antônio, São João and São Pedro dancing quadrilhas, the pink dolphin appears causing confusion among the families that live in Forest.
Similar to the marine dolphin, the pink dolphin emerges from the fresh water of the rivers transformed into a beautiful and seductive dancer, always wearing white clothes, shoes and hat. Unlike young people in the region, in addition to the fine clothes, the dolphin's hat hides a large orifice, which is where it breathes.
Even with this detail, the attractive young man, who no one knows where he comes from, tends to seduce one of the prettiest girls at the party, take her with him to the bottom of the river and, at dawn, leave her pregnant.
For this reason, when a different young person appears wearing a hat at riverside parties in the Amazon, they usually ask him to take off his hat, thus making sure that he is not a boto. But legend has it that the boto is sneaky and sometimes manages to deceive a lot of people at a party.
It is from this legend that the custom, among Amazonian communities, when a woman becomes pregnant and does not know the father, say that the child is the daughter of the boto.
We have separated below some activities about the legend of the Dolphin Cor de Rosa, as an exercise in fixating on the legend.
