Today I turned eighty-five years old. The poet was born from thirteen. At that time, I wrote a letter to my parents who lived on the farm, telling them that I had already decided what I wanted to be in my future. That I didn't want to be a doctor. Neither a doctor of healing nor a doctor of making a house nor a doctor of measuring land. What I wanted was to be a phrasing. My dad got a little vague after reading the letter. My mother tilted her head. I wanted to be a phrasing and not a doctor. So my older brother asked: but does this phrasing man keep food at home? I didn't want to be a doctor, I just wanted to be a phrasing. My brother insisted: but being a phrasing doesn't bring food at home, we have to put a hoe in this boy's hand so he doesn't vary. The mother lowered her head a little more. The father remained a little vague. But he didn't put a hoe.
