Peter and his fox Pax are inseparable since he rescued her, an orphan, as a cub. One day, the unimaginable happens: the boy's father goes to serve in the war, and forces him to return Pax to nature. Upon arriving at his grandfather's distant house, where he will live, Peter recognizes that he is not where he should be: his true place is next to Pax. Driven by love, loyalty and guilt, he sets off on a solitary journey of almost three hundred kilometers to find his fox again, despite the oncoming war. Meanwhile, even without giving up waiting for her boy, Pax embarks on her own adventures and discoveries.
Switching perspectives to show the parallel paths of the two central characters, Pax exposes the boy's development in his attempt to face the ferocity inherited by his father, while the domesticated fox follows the opposite path, exploring his wild nature. A timeless novel for all ages, which addresses family relationships, man's relationship with the environment and the dangers we carry within ourselves.
Pax thrills the reader from the first page. A world full of feelings where nature and humanity meet in a story that celebrates loyalty and love.
