Once upon a time there was a beautiful young woman named Fatima, whose father was a wealthy merchant. One day, he warned her that they would travel by ship to an island where they had several friends with children her own age.
"Perhaps you will find a bridegroom among these boys," her father told her. During the voyage there was a terrible storm on the high seas. All the crew died, including Fátima's father, and only she managed to reach the beach, where she fell asleep with fatigue. When he woke up, not knowing what to do, he walked out onto the sand. A family of weavers passing by saw it and, feeling sorry for that beautiful and helpless girl, invited Fátima to live in their house. […]
