During the summer, outdoor activities increase. Solar radiation is more intensely focused on the Earth, increasing the risk of burns, skin cancer and other problems. Therefore, we cannot leave protection aside. Here are some tips to enjoy the warmest season of the year without putting your health at risk.
Sunblock
Summer is the time to intensify the use of sunscreen, which should be applied daily and not just during leisure time. Products with a sun protection factor (SPF) 30 or higher are recommended for daily use and also for longer exposure to the sun (beach, pool, fishing, etc.).
In children, the use of sunscreen starts from six months of age, using a suitable protector for the skin that is more sensitive, preferably physical filters. It is recommended to seek guidance from a pediatrician or dermatologist on the best product for each case. It is necessary for children and young people to make a habit of using sunscreen daily.
Warning: people with black skin have a "natural" protection, due to the greater amount of melanin produced, but they cannot forget about photoprotection, as they are also subject to burns, skin cancer and others. problems. Like lighter-skinned people, they need to use sunscreen, appropriate clothing and accessories daily.
daily habits
Warmer temperatures require extra hydration, inside and out. Therefore, you should increase your fluid intake in the summer and abuse water, fruit juice and coconut water. Every day, apply a good moisturizer, which helps to maintain the proper amount of water on the skin.
In summer we are more willing to eat healthier, eating grilled meats, raw and cooked foods; fruits and vegetables that are high in water and fiber and low in carbohydrates. Betting on these foods helps in hydrating the body, prevents diseases and postpones the signs of aging.
