One of the most used expressions in the political world is 'end up on pizza', used when something wrong is judged without anyone being punished. The term came about through football. In the 60's, some top hats from Palmeiras got together to solve some problems and, for 14 hours straight of fights and arguments, they were very hungry.
So, everyone went to a pizzeria, drank a lot of draft beer and ordered 18 large pizzas. After that, they simply went home and peace absolutely reigned. After this episode, Milton Peruzzi, who worked at Gazeta Esportiva, made the following headline: “Crisis do Palmeiras ends in pizza”. Thereafter the term stuck.
