Despite the fascination they provoke, little is known about the life of cetaceans (whales, porpoises and dolphins). Where can we find them? How do they feed and reproduce? How do we identify the different species? In this book, which is part of the ‘Field Guides: Marine fauna of the Campos Basin series – a partnership between the Marine Mammals Study Group of the Region dos Lagos (GEMM-Lagos, from the National School of Public Health, Fiocruz) and the Petrobras Research Center (Cenpes) – the authors respond to these and others questions about such animals, featuring several species that inhabit the region, where at least 31 of the more than 40 species in the region are found.
