Petrobras series portrays workers in extreme conditions
Petrobras is launching a series called “Threshold: Frontiers of Knowledge”, with short documentaries that show the routine of those who work in unusual places and in extreme conditions.
The first episode of the series shows the work of researchers at the Comandante Ferraz Antarctic Station, which will be reopened soon at 8:30 pm. The documentary team traveled 12,000 kilometers and spoke with researchers and other members of the Antarctic Program Brazilian (Proantar) on the particularities of Antarctica, where temperatures can reach 50 degrees Celsius negative.
The base, operated by the Navy, receives support from Petrobras through Proantar. The station carries out scientific research in the environmental, meteorological, biodiversity and chemistry areas. The agreement allows the company to participate in surveys and have access to ____ information that enables the improvement of weather forecasting models, waves and marine currents used by the company.
In another episode, the series shows the work of professionals who work in the production of oil and gas in ultra-deep waters, more than 300 kilometers from the coast.
According to the executive manager of Communication and Brands at Petrobras, Flavia da Justa, “the idea is to present where we operate on the threshold of human knowledge and how technology, always combined with safety, has led us to be so efficient even in such environments challenging”.
