Did you know that flies make a great contribution to nature? Because flies collaborate both with the decomposition of organic matter (the remains of animals and plants) and with the emergence of new plants.
Blowfly, horsefly, beronah, horsefly, fruit worm… Flies, especially domestic flies, have many names. And their variety is even greater: there are approximately 150,000 species spread around the world. The smallest ones can measure less than two millimeters, while the biggest one – hold your chin! – measures about six centimeters. The giant fly is Brazilian, called
gauromydas heroes.In general, insects have four functional wings, but flies only have two – the other two are structures called rockers, which have the function of providing balance when they are flying. There are also apter species, that is, without wings, which are parasites of bees, sheep and bats.
Regardless of the species, flies are practically everywhere, accompany us for breakfast, frequent our garbage and threaten our health, right? No! I mean, more or less… […]
