Christmas, for me, tastes of joy and surprises, do you know why? Because in my house, each one prepared a surprise for the other.
That Christmas, however, we had agreed that no one was going to give a gift, because of the expenses with the baby's arrival (mom was expecting the baby). I had already resigned myself to not giving or receiving surprises.
But when I woke up on the 25th, I almost died of joy, do you know what was in my room? A wooden rocking chair with a colorful patchwork cushion. Dad had made the chair and Mom had made the pillow, needless to say, I was delighted.
Mom and Dad were still sleeping, so it was my turn to make my surprise, I had prepared one, and it was hiding in my wardrobe.
The surprise is that my gift was for the baby, who was about to be born. As I couldn't spend money, I chose a shorts of the madeleine, my doll, washed them well, ironed them well, folded them and put them in a bag. I wrapped it in pretty paper and hid it.
So I took the little package, walked very quietly into my parents' room and put the little gift, you know where? Right on top of Mom's belly, then I went back to my room.
When they got up, they went to my bed and gave me a kiss that tasted different, you know? I also gave them a different kiss, we don't need to say anything else, because we already understood everything.
