Dino dinosaur's corn plants are huge now, even taller than grandpa.
“Let's see if the corn is ready to be eaten,” Grandpa says.
He picks up a large spike that has dark, soft strands at the tip.
– This is the hair. When the hair is dark, like this, it means the corn can be ripe – Grandpa explains.
He opens some of the green leaves and pinches some corn kernels with his thumbnail.
– See this juice? It's half watery and half milky, which means the corn is ready to be eaten now.
