Olago de Bokod is west of Budapest, Hungary, and part of its charm is due to its colorful houseboats that frame a breathtaking sunset.
Bokod is an artificial lake created in 1961. Its waters had never frozen in the past as they were used by a nearby nuclear power plant, and fortunately the plant is now inactive.
Over time, Bokod became a tourist spot thanks to the construction of these small houseboats.
Each little house is different from the other. The houses are connected by wooden walkways that create a fairy tale atmosphere.
In fact, not surprisingly, it has become one of the most photographed places by tourists and photographers. All of this was favored by the closure of the nuclear power plant, and the lake was like that, becoming a more natural and less polluted environment.
The stilts are homes, but there are also small restaurants that are away from the hustle and bustle of the city, especially in summer, tables are placed on the catwalk and it is possible to have a drink while enjoying the atmosphere romantic.
Not only that, Lake Bokod was also the protagonist of Eurovision Song, Hungarian singer András Kállay-Saunders_________________ the location as the setting for the music video for his song ‘Juliet’ and won the fifth place in the awards.
