It was from an advertisement on a television program that Altair discovered the Turma do Bem. He arranged to take his son Lucas to go through screening. “The next month he was called up,” he says. The treatment of the boy's teeth started in February 2015. After six months, he no longer had cavities or open dental arches. “I never opened my mouth. Today it's different: it's easier to laugh and take a picture,” he says. When Lucas was at the end of treatment, Altair took his other son, Thiago, for further screening. “In the evaluation, they saw that he had rotten teeth, cavities and three root canal problems”, says the father. Thiago underwent treatment between June and November 2016. “I was already used to people saying that my tooth was bad”, says Thiago, now 12 years old. “Now I feel more like talking, without shame to open my mouth”, he adds.
