Nobody knows who flew the first kite, but a Greek scientist, around 400 years before Christ, was already playing “flying kites”. Therefore, it can be believed that since 2500 years ago bamboo, thread and paper artifacts flew through the skies and had the most varied applications.
At the beginning of the century, the United States Department of Meteorology used kites equipped with instruments to measure temperature, humidity, wind speed, etc.
During World War I, the Japanese used the kite as a means of sending messages to their comrades and, during World War II, the Germans used it to spy on movements enemies.
In Brazil, runaway slaves also used it to communicate with each other.
