Read the text carefully. Then answer the questions about it:
The Sanctuary is a small sample of the original landscape that existed when Alonso de Ojeda, Pedro Álvares Cabral and the other Portuguese navigators landed on the northeastern coast in their ships and caravels, at the end of the century XV.
Created in 1986 and situated between the villages of Tibau do Sul and Pipa, it encompasses a variety of landscapes and natural resources, including reefs, cliffs, dunes and forests. For the urban visitor, it offers an opportunity to escape the everyday hustle and practice ecological tourism, blazing trails, learning curious facts about flora and fauna or simply contemplating their charms.
Anyone who wants to bathe in the sea can go down to Madeiro inlet. This is where the hawksbill turtles lay their eggs, from November to May each year. It is worth mentioning that the Sanctuary participates in the TAMAR project, which aims to preserve endangered turtles.
On permanent exhibition, are the exhibitions Artisanal Fishing in Pipa, Mamluk's House and Atlantic Forest Biosphere Reserve. The Pipa Botanical Garden, part of the project, aims to encourage appreciation, understanding and protection of plants on the northeastern coast, through educational, scientific and recreational activities.
In addition to displaying typical plants from the region, it offers two exciting tours: the Caminho do Golfinho, a major attraction in the region, and the Caminho do Soim. A lake, a waterfall and an artificial swamp serve to showcase typical freshwater flora and fauna, as well as attract forest animals and birds. The orchid and bromeliad provide other pleasant places for scholars and nature lovers.
