Text: Take care of your attitudes

One beautiful sunny day, Mr. Mário, an old truck driver comes home, after 20 long years of work, calls his wife to see his beautiful truck, the first one he had been able to buy after all those years of suffocation, and from that day on he would take it to be his own boss.

When he arrives at the door of his house, he finds his little son, 6 years old, happily hammering the body of the shiny truck. Angrily, he shouts and asks what his son was doing and without hesitating, in the midst of his fury, he mercilessly hammers his son's hands, who starts to cry without understanding what was happening.
The truck driver's wife runs to the rescue of her son, but she could do little. Crying with her son, she manages to bring her husband back to reality and, together, they take him to the hospital, to bandage the wounds caused.
After several hours of surgery, the disconsolate doctor, very dejected, calls the parents and informs them that the lacerations were of such a great extent that all the The child's fingers had to be amputated, but the boy was otherwise strong and had resisted the surgery well, and the parents had to wait for him to wake up in the room.
When he woke up, the boy was all smiles and said to his father:
Dad, I'm sorry I just wanted to fix your truck, like you taught me the other day. Do not be mad with me.
His father was moved and said that it didn't matter anymore, that he wasn't even angry anymore and that he hadn't ruined his truck's bodywork.
To which, the boy with radiant eyes asked:
You mean you're not mad at me anymore?
No, replied the father.
If I'm forgiven daddy, when will my little fingers be born again?

REFLECTION

Despite being strong, this story has a very real stamp, because at the time of the impetus, we hurt deeply those we love and many times we can no longer “heal” the wound we left behind. Think about your attitudes and reflect to see how impetuous you have been and, if possible, change your attitudes in order to avoid irreversible damage. By doing the best for the other, we will be receiving the best from each other. We are heirs to ourselves. What we give is what we get.
