a very dark night

The zebra family is having dinner. Suddenly, all the lights in the house go out.
– Oh-ho. Out of power - says Dad.
Zig and Zag are scared. It's very, very dark. They can barely see each other.
“See, Dad, there's no light next door either,” Zag says, pointing to the dark house.
“That means the entire island is without light tonight,” he explains. “Don't be afraid. I have an idea. Let's go outside. Get your coats.

Zebras rush out into the cold, snowy night. They all look at the sky.
- Our! How many stars! Much more than what we see most nights! exclaims Zig.
– That's because there aren't any houses or streets with lights on right now. This hides the smaller stars - explains Mom.
The family watches the stars until they get cold.
– Let's go inside and warm up. I'm going to light some candles,” Dad says.
“And I'm going to make hot chocolate,” Mom says, putting an arm around each of the twins.
They sit in the kitchen, in the soft, warm light of the candles, sipping sips of hot chocolate.
“Let's sing something,” Zag suggests.
Mom starts a song and everyone joins in on it.
“I wish I had more nights like this,” Zig says, yawning.
“Me too,” says Zag, yawns too.
“Time to go to bed,” Mom smiles.
– Candlelight? – asks Zig.
- It is clear! - Mom laughs.
The twins head to the bathroom to prepare for bed under the flickering candlelight.
