Again or again? Denono together does not exist in the Portuguese language

When speaking, the pronunciation is the same, but what about writing? The confusion between "again or again", like so many other words and expressions in the Portuguese language, it is very common. Not everyone knows, however, which of the two ways is actually correct.

The truth is that only one of them is correct and must be used. The other, however, does not exist in Portuguese. The doubt happens precisely because there are cases in which both exist, as in “too much” and “too much”. "Again" or "again" does not work with the same logic.

Know which way is right: Again or again?

When writing it is necessary to have the right knowledge! Follow the explanation below and find out which of the two ways is correct: "again or again”:

Again

Although the sound is the same as the expression “again or again”, written all together, it does not exist in Portuguese. The word came up only because of the doubt of many people, but its use is incorrect and should be avoided in spelling.

Again

That, yes, is the correct way! The adverbial phrase “again” is formed from the union of a preposition (from) and a noun (new). Thus, it is used as a synonym for “again” or “again”, for example. Anything that can be replaced by these expressions, it is possible to use “again”.

Check out the examples below to better understand the explanation:

  • I want to go back to that city we visited!
  • You can't call him again.
  • I could invite you back to a meeting.
  • Are you going there again?
  • Are you sure it's possible to do this again?

As you can see, in all of the above sentences it is possible to substitute “again” for “again”.

The main function of this phrase “again” is to change the meaning of the verb. By including the “again”, you give the idea of something that will repeat itself. If you are going to forward something again/again, for example, you are actually forwarding it.

There are other phrases widely used in the Portuguese language that act as “again”, expressing a relationship of mode. Some of them are: from the back, at all, from the top.

Again or again? How do you write? Is it together or apart?
