The story of Jesus' birth
There was a girl named Maria, who lived in the city of Nazareth. One night an angel appeared to him, saying:
__Don't be afraid, Maria. You were cherished by God! You will become pregnant and give birth to a child. You will call His name Jesus, for He will be called the Son of the Most High.
Maria, however, asked:
__Mas How will this be, if I'm betrothed to Joseph and we haven't got married yet?
The angel replied:
__The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will cover you with its shadow. Thus, he who is to be born will be called Holy, Son of God.
Mary replied: “I am the servant of the Lord; may it happen to me according to your word”. Then the angel left her.
And finding Mary pregnant with the Holy Spirit, an angel appeared to Joseph and said:
__José, do not be afraid to receive Mary for your wife, because what is generated in her is the fruit of the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you must name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.
Then, as there was no room for them in the inns, which were full due to enlistment, Joseph and Mary went to a stable. And there Jesus was born, being placed in a manger.
Some shepherds guarded their flocks nearby. And the angel appeared to them and said:
___Do not be afraid, because I bring you news of great joy: today in the city of David, your savior is born, who is Christ, the Lord. You will find the boy wrapped in cloth and lying in a manger.
Suddenly, there appeared in the heavens a great multitude of angels, who sang: “Glory to God in the highest, peace on earth and good will to men…”
And some magicians, who came from the East, followed a great star and guided by it, arrived at the place where Jesus was born. When they entered, they saw the boy with Mary, his mother, and, falling down, they worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and gave him gifts: gold, frankincense and myrrh.
