Read the summary of the novel:
Lucy and Gabe meet at college on the morning of September 11, 2001. At the same moment, two planes collide with the Twin Towers. Seeing the flames blaze in New York, they decide they want to do something important with their lives, something that will make a difference in the world.
When they see each other again a year later, it feels like a predestined date. But Gabe is sent to the Middle East as a photojournalist and Lucy decides to invest in her career in New York.
Over the next thirteen years, their path often crosses and strays, in an odyssey of dreams, desire, jealousy, betrayal and, above all, love.
