A Lion and an Ass agreed that they would hunt together. In their search for prey, the two hunters soon saw a group of Wild Goats that had hidden in a cave, and so they decided to devise a plan to capture them.
The Donkey would enter the cave and take charge of luring them out. The Lion, of course, would be lurking outside, ready to attack them as soon as they left.
The plan worked perfectly. Distracted and confident that they were safe in their retreat, the Goats didn't realize the Donkey had entered. The invading animal, by surprise, made such a frightening noise, jumping and braying as hard as it could. they allowed their lungs, which the Goats, panic-stricken, had no other reaction but to run to all the sides.
And soon, somewhat recovered from the fright, they managed to find their way out of confinement, and thinking that they would be safer outside, they left running at a run, oblivious to the Lion who, at the ready, was waiting for everyone at the entrance to the cave.
Proud of his achievement, Donkey came out of the cave and commented, "Did you see how I got them all running?"
To which the Lion replied, "Yes, without a doubt, and if I didn't know you so well, I would certainly do the same thing they did..."
