Weight loss is a slow process, but not impossible. To lose weight with health, we cannot eagerly go after any “miracle” diet that restricts our diet to a few calories. Losing weight is adopting a healthy lifestyle, so it's best to seek help from a nutritionist who prepares a menu that helps you to eliminate only the fat and not your health!
Basics of nutrition and health
Our body, to stay healthy, needs some special care, food being one of them. Good nutrition contributes to good health. According to the World Health Organization, health is defined as “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being of the individual, not just the absence of disease”.
Nutrition is the science that studies food and its relationship with health, the nutritional value of food, metabolism, the balance of diets and the factors that affect health, which can be social, psychological, cultural and economical.
The science of nutrition, therefore, has the basic purpose of contributing to the process of populations, aiming to improve the nutritional status of individuals and, consequently, their health.
Good nutritional status is responsible for the proper functioning of the body, contributing to health and preventing diseases. A well-fed individual has more and better mood, which contributes to his emotional balance, improving his social adjustment.
