The proclamation of the republic took place on the day November 15, 1889, date on which the Day of the Proclamation of the Republic in Brazil (15 November). This day is considered a National holiday.
The proclamation took place in Rio de Janeiro, which at the time was the capital of our country, by a group of soldiers that was led by the Marshal Deodoro da Fonseca.
Marshal Deodoro da Fonseca carried out a coup d'état in the empire and instituted a provisional republic and, later, he was consecrated the first president of Brazil.
Brazil was the only independent country on the American continent ruled by an emperor. The country's independence had been achieved on September 7, 1822, through the signature of the decree by Dona Leopoldina and the action of Pedro I.

Material needed:
Fold a sheet of newspaper in half. Fold its ends inwards, forming an almost “little house”. Now, fold out the excess paper so that it is actually in the shape of a triangle. Open the triangle and fold in the opposite direction, forming a square. Fold the corners of the square inwards, forming a triangle again.
Paint the hat with green gouache. Glue the blue and yellow ribbons and the gold medal with red ribbons.
