NAME:

walking on water

Monkey Ivo started a new experiment.
'I really wanted to be able to walk on water,' he tells himself. - How can I do this? he asks himself, looking around the lab.
In the distance, he hears a long whistle. The ferry bell is arriving at the dock on the island of Fireflies.
– Hmmmm – says Ivo.
He sets to work. Soon, he finishes two small wooden boats. Each boat is big enough for him to put his foot inside. Straps hold the booties on your feet, like a kind of giant shoe.

“Would I be able to walk to Ilha Grande?” Ivo asks himself.
Poc! Poc! Poc! Poc! He leaves, walking to the harbor in his new dinghy shoes.
Ivo noisily walks to the dock and stands on the edge, looking down at the water below.
– There you go! I will walk on water! – he shouts, waving to Captain Vacôncia.
Ivo steps off the dock, toward the water. He falls, splashing a lot of water. Then he starts to sink, until he has the cold water up to his neck.
- Help! Help! - he screams.
Captain Vacôncia throws him a white and red life preserver tied to a rope.
Soon Ivo finds himself aboard the bell raft, dripping, soaked and shivering, but safe.
– Welcome aboard, Captain Ivo! - She laughs.
