• In Europe, in the past, people left the door of their house open at night so that travelers and poor people could participate in the Christmas dinner. Until today, the meal is a time for socializing between friends and family. In Brazil, the most traditional dish is roasted turkey.
• The creation of rooster mass is attributed to Saint Francis of Assisi, who would have built the first nativity scene in 1224, in the city of Greccio, Italy. The act was followed by a mass and, as the roosters sang in the early hours of the morning, the people gave this celebration the name of Missa do Galo.
• There is a legend that it was a rooster that announced the birth of Christ. The animal sang exactly at midnight on December 24th, the time and day the sprout was born. In Portugal, Spain and Brazil, it was customary to take a rooster to mass. If he sang, it was a sign of good omen for the coming year.
• the christmas song Happy night was born in Austria in 1818. Father Joseph Mohr went after an instrument that could replace the old church organ.
