O Day Soldier is celebrated on the day 25th of August in Brazil. This day honors the services provided by the Soldiers of the Brazilian army.
Military Service is mandatory for every 18-year-old man and consists of specific activities performed in the Armed Forces and comprises the mobilization of a portion of the population for all charges related to the National defense.
Maybe you've already heard of Duque de Caxias, "patron of the Brazilian Army". O Day Soldier it's a tribute to him “Luís Alves de Lima e Silva” who fought in several wars and combats.
Luis Alves de Lima e Silva was born on August 25, 1803.

In schools across the country, teachers, principals, coordinators and other employees organize parades and songs with soldiers, usually in the school yard. The Army presents parades and military shows.
