Octopuses are marine molluscs, they have eight arms, two eyes and three hearts. The arms have strong suction cups capable of gripping animals and tasting what they touch. The eyes are very sensitive, but color vision varies from species to species. The main heart pumps blood through the body, while the two secondary hearts send blood into the gills.
As well as other cephalopods (members of the class Cephalopod), octopuses have no skeleton or backbone. They are, therefore, invertebrates. The entire body is soft, except for the beak, similar to that of a parrot, which is hard.
