NAME:
The weather was hot for a week. Now tall, white clouds are moving fast.
– Guys, these clouds are monstrous! - says the sheep Babi, playing in the playground.
– I bet it's going to rain – says zebra Zig.
Clouds are fast approaching. Raindrops start to fall scattered. So it rains really hard.
- Under the tree! - Babi shouts.
Suddenly they hear a new sound.
– Look! White pebbles are falling! - shouts Zig.
His twin sister Zag runs out from under the tree to get one.
- Hey! These are not stones! It's ice! – Zag yells in the middle of the storm.
They all run out, grab little ice balls and quickly head back under the tree. Everyone is out of breath.
- There! This thing hurts! - Zag laughs. They throw ice in their mouths.
– Qui-qui is ich? - Zig asks, with his mouth full of ice balls.
“We call it hail,” Babi says. – It doesn't happen a lot, just sometimes, after a very hot climate.
– I've never seen anything like this! – Zag says.
– Look, they're piling up like snow! - Babi shouts.
The hail stops. The floor is all white now. The little friends leave the tree and start to slip through the hail.
They catch the hail in their cupped hands and throw it at each other.
– The island of Fireflies has a strange climate – laughs Zig – but I love it!
