Contrary to what many people think the flag day is not a national holiday in Brazil and is celebrated annually on the day November 19th. And to work this commemorative date in the classroom, we selected some flag day activities to print.
On November 19, 1889, the newly installed republican government of Brazil exchanged the old imperial flag for the flag of the Republic. The new flag, designed by Décio Vilares, was adopted by Decree No. 4 on November 19, 1889.

At official colors of the Brazilian flag they are green, yellow, blue and white, with the phrase “Ordem e Progresso”. Each color has a meaning distinct, check each of them below:
