Carlota was a lazy and very slow marmot. For her birthday, her friends prepared a huge cake, decorated with ten candles.
Night came, and everyone gathered in the clearing. The marmot approached the cake. Two hours later, she had only extinguished two candles!
The group grew impatient, and the younger ones fell asleep. It was already midnight when Carlota blew out the fifth candle.
Mr. Owl was the only one to keep his eyes open.
The morning sun rose in the clearing; the guests slept. Carlota and Senhor Owl shared the cake and devoured it with pleasure.
– What a beautiful party and what a delicious cake! – Carlota declared, delighted.
Mr. Boar woke up and watched the two gluttons.
