Cachaça, caninha, aguardente, drips, branquinha or water that the bird does not drink. Any of these nicknames is easily recognized by Brazilians, especially by Minas Gerais.
Minas Gerais is a reference in the country and in the world. Holder of 50% of the national production, the state is world famous for its cachaça. White or yellow, aged in an oak or jequitibá barrel, the cachaça is very versatile and can be consumed straight or in the form of drinks and cocktails. The most traditional is the caipirinha.
The use of drips in cooking is also increasing. Producers have invested in improved packaging and labels and launched cachaça-based products, such as ice cream and ready-made caipirinhas, to reach younger audiences. In Minas, it is possible to make tourist itineraries of cachaça, where tourists have the opportunity to get to know the entire beverage production chain, carry out tastings of cachaça and appetizers harmonized.
