The Santa Cruz da Barra Fortress Lighthouse is one of the main milestones for the arrival and departure of navigators in Guanabara Bay, in the state of Rio de Janeiro.
Built in the 19th century, the lighthouse guides navigation along one of the busiest routes for boats in Brazil. And it also has a privileged view of Rio de Janeiro and its hills, such as Sugarloaf Mountain and Corcovado. The highest point of Fortaleza de Santa Cruz, the lighthouse is located in Niterói, in the metropolitan region of Rio, and attracts thousands of tourists.
