Why is bumping your elbows shocking?
There is no way: a stronger bump causes that feeling of shock in that part of the body. The culprit for the shock sensation we feel when we hit the elbow is the ulnar nerve: it runs from the spinal cord to each hand and, in the elbow region, lies just below the skin. Therefore, any tapping on the site can stimulate this nerve, producing a sensation of shock.
