NICOLAU HAS A FRIEND CALLED GODOFREDO. HE INVENTED A CODE TO COMMUNICATE WITH HIS CLASSMATES. AT RECREIO, GODOFREDO GATHERED HIS CLASS TO TELL THIS NEWS.
– I INVENTED A GREAT CODE – GODOFREDO SAID. – IT'S A SECRET CODE THAT ONLY THE PEOPLE IN THE CLASS WILL UNDERSTAND.
AND HE SHOWED IT TO US; FOR EACH LETTER, WE MAKE A GESTURE. FOR EXAMPLE: THE FINGER IN THE NOSE IS FOR THE LETTER “A”, THE FINGER IN THE LEFT EYE IS “B”, THE FINGER IN THE RIGHT EYE IS “C”. THEY HAVE DIFFERENT GESTURES FOR ALL THE LETTERS: WE STRIKE THEIR EAR, RUB THE CHIN, SLAPP THE BROW, AND SO UP TO Z, WHEN WE GET SKEWED. FANTASTIC!
WE WERE IN A LINE AND GODOFREDO SAID:
– IN CLASS I WILL SEND A MESSAGE TO YOU, AND AT THE NEXT RECREATION WE'LL SEE WHO HAS UNDERSTOOD. I WILL ALREADY NOTIFY: TO BE PART OF THE CLASS YOU MUST KNOW THE SECRET CODE!
IN CLASS, THE TEACHER HAD US TO TAKE OUT THE NOTEBOOKS AND COPY THE PROBLEMS SHE WAS GOING TO WRITE ON THE BOARD, FOR US TO DO AT HOME. I WAS VERY ANNOYED ABOUT IT, MAINLY BECAUSE OF DAD, BECAUSE HE COMES BACK FROM THE OFFICE VERY TIRED, AND NOT MUCH WILLING TO DO A MATHEMATICS LESSON. THEN, WHILE THE TEACHER WROTE ON THE BOARD, EVERYONE TURNED TO GODOFREDO AND WE WAITED FOR HIM TO START THE MESSAGE. THEN GODOFREDO BEGAN TO MAKE GESTURES; AND IT WAS EVEN VERY EASY TO UNDERSTAND, BECAUSE HE DID IT VERY FAST, AND THEN HE STOPPED TO WRITE IN THE NOTEBOOK, AND THEN, LIKE A PEOPLE WERE LOOKING AT HIM, HE WAS STARTING GESTURES, AND HE WAS VERY FUNNY PUTTING HIS FINGERS ON HIS EARS AND SLAPPING HIM FOREHEAD.
GODOFREDO'S MESSAGE WAS TOO LONG, AND IT WAS VERY BORING BECAUSE WE COULD NOT COPY THE PROBLEMS. Yeah, WE WERE AFRAID TO LOSE THE LETTERS OF THE MESSAGE AND NOT UNDERSTAND ANYTHING, AND THEN WE HAD TO BE LOOKING ALL THE TIME AT GODOFREDO, SITTING IN THE BACK OF THE ROOM.
AND THEN GODOFREDO MADE I SCRATCHING HIS HEAD, T SHOWING HIS TONGUE, GREATED HIS EYES AND STOPPED. EVERYONE TURNED AROUND AND SAW THAT THE TEACHER WAS NO LONGER WRITING AND WAS LOOKING AT GODOFREDO.
– Yeah, GODOFREDO – THE TEACHER SPOKE. – I AM WITH YOUR COLLEAGUES, WATCHING YOU DO YOUR MICAGES. BUT IT'S ALREADY LAST TOO MUCH, hasn't it?
IT WAS THE FOLLOWING DAY THAT GODOFREDO EXPLAINED THE MESSAGE TO US. HE HAD SAID:
“DON'T KEEP LOOKING AT ME THAT WAY OR THE TEACHER WILL CATCH ME”.
