November 23 is the date we celebrate in Brazil the Electrical Engineer Day, and it is not considered a national holiday.
is celebrated the Electrical Engineer Day since 2009, but precisely on the 29th of October, the year in which Law No. 12,074 enters into force and instituted the national electrical engineer's day.
This day's main objective is to make people aware of the importance of valuing this professional.
Electrical engineering is the branch of engineering that works with the studies and applications of electricity, electromagnetism and electronics. This sector emerged in the mid-19th century when electricity was sold, distributed and used.
Electrical Engineer Day
The National Electrical Engineer Day carries the memory of the first Brazilian technological university, the Electrotechnical Institute of Itajubá. Today this university is known as the Federal University of Itajubá (UNIFEI), located in the state of MG (MINAS GERAIS).
The Federal University of Itajubá is a federal public higher education institution, with campuses in the cities of Itajubá and Itabira, both belonging to the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais. It is considered the first technological university and was the tenth engineering school in the country.
The institute was founded on November 23, 1913 by a lawyer, Dr. Theodomiro Carneiro Santiago. Its inauguration was attended by Hermes da Fonseca, the 8th President of Brazil.
