Folding Tips

1. For the folds to come out perfect choose a place with great lighting, use a solid, flat and smooth surface for support.
2. If you are starting to make folding, prefer papers with finer textures or the same, if the folds are many.
3. For beginners it is better to avoid the more expensive papers. In the beginning it is normal that you make mistakes a few times and have to throw away the paper to start again.
4. Always do the work with your hands very clean so you don't get your origami dirty and have to discard everything that was made.
5. When you pick up a pattern to make and the markings are with symbols, make sure you know them all before you start so you don't have to stop in the middle of your work.
6. When measurements appear on the model, they must be followed so that the final work is perfect.
7. It is important to accentuate the creases in the folds.
8. The step-by-step must be followed without any kind of change. A small change can ruin all the final work.
9. Patience is key to doing origami work. Especially on the first try.
10. On the internet you can find a lot of videos and it can be easier to see someone else doing it for someone who is starting.
11. By practicing you will be able to reach your best. Use paper that would otherwise be discarded.
12. Do not try to do it stubbornly, tiredness will only get in the way. Take a break and come back when you are more relaxed.

A little about Saci Pererê

Saci, also known as saci-pererê, saci-cererê, matimpererê, matita perê, saci-saçurá and saci-trique, is a well-known character in Brazilian folklore. Its origin is presumed to be among the indigenous people of the Região das Missões, in the south of the country, from where it would have spread throughout the entire Brazilian territory.

He usually chases animals to scare them away, likes to ride horses and tie their manes in knots. Saci Pererê can also appear and disappear mysteriously, he is very restless and does not stop for a single moment, because he keeps jumping from one place to another and every time he gets up to his mischief, he laughs high-pitched, happy laughs and likes to whistle, especially when there are no nights of moonlight.

Curiosity: Saci Pererê are attributed to things that go wrong.

Main features of Saci:

• it is a being that lives in the woods;

• it is black, small and has only one leg;
