International Women's Day

Unfortunately, women over time have suffered greatly. However, thanks to feminist struggles today we have several benefits and even the International Women's Day.

After all, women, at the beginning of their trajectory, were seen as beings who were not even considered as a citizen.

That's right, there were cultures that only used women for procreation, with no other end.

In addition, women were well regarded, only if they married someone, otherwise, society itself discriminated.

History has taken it upon itself to be very hard on women. In fact, the rules that people used to dictate were pretty strict.

International Women's Day

However, it took a lot of struggle to reach the space we have today. Many women were humiliated and even killed, due to the sexist view that was spreading.

Although the achievements have not ceased, even so, it guarantees the entire female audience a more dignified and almost equal space.

We use the “Almost” to indicate that not all places still respect women, much less treat them as equal beings.

As much as you have a International Women's Day, what needs to be done to change this scenario is far from being celebrated. There are still several fights to be done!

About International Women's Day

As you can see, the life of the female audience was only “quiet”, after several debates and movements to reduce the lack of respect for them.

Most of the movements we have date from countries located in Europe and the United States. In other countries there were also shares, but none of reputed.

That is, in European and North American countries, we found stronger movements and with greater repercussion by the media at the time.

The main struggles took place in the mid-19th century, all focused on political, humanitarian and social issues.

The most recurrent demands were about voting and also better conditions within the work environment.

So that you are situated, we will present some dates indicating the most important events in that period:

  • March 8, 1857

The first occurrence that we have of people making a movement to request better working conditions and even in relation to labor rights, was on this date.

In New York, in an industry focused on the textile sector, there were many women working.

Due to unhealthy conditions and lack of respect for the work they performed, the workers went on strike in front of the industry.

However, this strike was reprimanded and contained by the police shortly thereafter.

  • March 8, 1908

After a while, on the same date, another strike took place. Also in New York.

The objective was to remember the causes that were fought in the first movement of the same date. Furthermore, they added new causes.

The workers who worked with the needle trade said they were seeking the right to vote and also asked for the extermination of child labor.

However, even though they are noble causes, they were stopped by the New York police.

What was the most striking fact between these fights?

Before being decreed the International Women's Day, there was a fact that helped drive the creation of the date.

There were many fights involving women. However, the one that marked the most was 1911, in March, on the 25th.

Demands for better working conditions were constantly made, until one day a factory where the majority of workers were women ended up suffering from a fire.

More than 100 women were killed due to precarious jobs, especially in industries.

What was the result? Immediate changes were made to labor laws.

A short time later, there was also the creation of the International Women's Day.

The date chosen was March 8th, because the beginning was on that date. So, the courageous struggle of the first women who sought only equal rights is commemorated.

It's just a shame to think that it took many deaths and moments of true barbarism for something to change about respect and women's rights.

And to celebrate these various fights, the only thing that was created was International Women's Day, which honors the act of struggle and persistence of many women.

International Women's Day in Brazil

In our country, this date is also celebrated on March 8, like other countries. It's important to say that, because there are countries with other dates or that don't have this honor.

In any case, the struggles also encouraged Brazilian women to seek their rights.

However, the approval of social rights and political rights of the female public only occurred here in our country late.

Another interesting thing besides the International Women's Day, we have the commemorative date nationally.

This date was chosen in honor of leader Jerónimo Mesquita. A nurse who was the forerunner of the feminist movements in the country.

The date of National Women's Day is April 30, the day and month she was born.

His main fights were aimed at trying to insert the female audience into Brazilian society, so that they would have more visibility and also gain greater respect.

Poems about International Women's Day

Women

moon woman
the other face, the naked face
earth woman
what is mystery, what is expected
nature woman
what is firm, what is beauty
woman strength
gravity, current
water woman
the birth, the uncertainty
woman life
Everywhere, your seed.
People woman.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE WOMEN! (ON INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY)

Woman, masterpiece of creation
that God has done with perfection and with care;
a great gift for adam
– fragrant flower, without a thorn.

To bless our way
the Lord did it, with perfection;
making the home the sweetest nest,
filling our hearts with love!

Life that gives strength to work
and life that generates another life,
companion who animates our faith…

Beauty in the form of a person,
girlfriend and “mother” – what a good thing!
Congratulations to women's day!…

Antonio Costta

Women…

May you always be remembered,
not just for a day,
but on a daily basis…
May you be feted,
not by convention,
but for its value,
your strength, your heart.
may you be respected
with all affection,
and all love...
Today and always!

Valeria Milanese

EVERY WOMAN

every woman must be loved
On a daily basis conquered
Not being a godly mother
in the desired bed
in the mouth kissed
In multiplied joy
In the shared home
on your celebrated day
in sadness comforted
in the raised fall
In the fight encouraged
at work motivated
on birthday gifted
in the massaged soul
in admired beauty
In difficulty helped
In the neck and smelled good
in the blessed life
Worldwide respected
And whenever possible… hugged.

Bruno Bezerra

If you knew how I like your arrivals, you would come running every day. She is the only woman who still esteems me, if you fail me, I starve to death. Without you they would bury me as a pauper, my past would fade away, no one would register my saga.

Chico Buarque

Women

How beautiful and wonderful you are,
Full of beauty and sensuality,
The day is already dawning, beautiful and charming,
Always wasting a lot of happiness,

Born for the planet earth to decorate,
Always showing your greatness,
Showing where you want to go,
Always taking care of your beauty,

To be kind and very delicate,
In everything he does he shows wisdom,
Always with the shine of a princess,
Be it at night or even during the day,

Wherever you go you are coveted,
Many babble offering everything,
By the hands of God she was blessed,
To fill the world with lives.

José Romildo Duarte
