Once upon a time there were two brothers. Their father died and they inherited two cows. After the funeral, they went to share the inheritance.
– Zé, how are we going to know which is your cow and which is mine?
– Look, Tunico, I have an idea. I cut my cow's ear off. The cow with an ear is hers, the one without an ear is mine.
And so they did. But they had a neighbor who loved to deceive others and at night he went there and cut off the other cow's ear. In the morning, the brothers panicked:

– And now, Zé, how do we know which is your cow and which is mine?
– We cut the other one from your cow. The cow that still has an ear becomes mine, the one without ears becomes hers.
They agreed. But at night the neighbor went there and cut the ear of the other cow too.
The next morning, another panic.
– What do we do, Tunico?
– Let's cut the horns.
And they cut the horns off one of the cows to make a difference.
The neighbor went there and cut off the horns of the other cow.
And then another impasse arose.
– And now, Joe?
– The tail, Tunico.
And they cut off the tail of one of the cows.
'Now the cow with a tail is yours and the one without a tail is mine,' said Tunico.
The next morning the mean neighbor had cut the tail of the other cow. The two brothers despaired.
-And this time, what are we going to do?
Tunico thought, thought. Zé thought, thought. At the same time, the two had an idea:
– Let's do this: you get the white cow and I get the black one.
