After all, what is origami? “Ori” means “fold” and “kami” means “paper”. So, origami is nothing more than “folding paper”! This art of paper folding originated in China. Coincidence or not, the same place where the paper appeared! However, it was in Japan that origami was best known. In the beginning, origami was only made by rich people, as paper was very expensive. Only after a long time did origami become a more popular art in Asia, being taught from generation to generation. Nowadays origami is known as being Japanese, but it is worth remembering that the traditional way of starting an origami figure through a square of paper came from China!
